Hoggs Bridge Green Improvements

Last month we repaired the apron at the entrance to Hoggs Bridge Green. There remain some finishing jobs but we hope you agree that this not only smartens up the area but also provides much easier access when it’s needed.

Remembrance Sunday

We’ve received some really positive feedback about last month’s Remembrance Sunday Parade & Service. It certainly made a huge difference to have the new PA system, allowing everyone to clearly hear proceedings.

Community Speedwatch

One of the concerns we hear most about from parishioners is that of speeding vehicles around the Village. As you may know, we have tried for years through the Highways Improvement Plan to persuade KCC to initiate a wide range of new initiatives to combat the problem. None have succeeded so far. Thus we are left to work with the tools we have, and one is Speedwatch. We successfully completed another patrol in November and more are coming. Invariably the Parish Council team is used to fill most of the required places as we have insufficient volunteers. Can you help? Please let us know.

Remembering Mr Curteis

This month a new bench will be installed on Day’s Green near the school crossing in memory of Mr Curteis. So many of us have such fond memories of his friendly and cheerful welcome at the school crossing and around the school. He succeeded in making the journey to school safe and fun for so many years.

In addition the Parish Council will be planting a tree in the vicinity.
